Chartley Moss

Chartley Moss is a rare and significant natural site located just beyond our boundary and is worth a visit. It is renowned as one of the few remaining peat bogs in the country, representing a unique and delicate ecosystem that has formed over thousands of years. The moss is part of a larger National Nature Reserve and is of great importance both ecologically and historically.
